Thankful

(The heart of a prophetess)

Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age
, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fasting and prayers night and day. And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem. (Luke 2:36-38, 40 NKJV)

The expression of a grateful heart:

1. Went to church
2. Served God
3. Witnessed for God

She instantly gave thanks!

How quick are we to give thanks to God even in the smallest matters?

We are quick to give thanks for an emptied wheel chair but what about the sprained ankle that's healed?

If we can't be quick to give thanks for the babe in the manger what would we do with the king of kings?

because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. (Romans 1:21 NKJV)

We tend to focus in on the sin of homosexuality in this passage instead of the root problem. The real issue, which is systemic to who we give the glory to and to whom we are thankful for most.

Give thanks with a grateful heart...
